Beyond work
The rest of me.
A resume only captures one slice of a person. Here’s some of what fills the rest — the habits and quiet obsessions that shape how I show up everywhere else.
Discipline & the barbell
I’ve trained consistently since 2021. I don’t always enjoy the hard sets — that’s precisely the point. Meaningful growth tends to begin right where comfort ends, and the gym is where I rehearse that lesson in its simplest, most honest form.
You don’t rise to your goals; you fall to your systems. Show up, add a little, repeat. Everything I believe about work, I learned to trust under a loaded bar first.
The open road
I ride — more than two thousand kilometres of motorcycle touring in a year, usually with no plan beyond the next bend. There’s a kind of thinking that only happens at speed, when the world narrows to road, weather, and attention.
More often than not, I come back with the answer I’d been chasing at a desk all week. The road clears the noise the way nothing else does.
Faith & character
My faith isn’t separate from my work — I see doing work well as a form of worship. I’m trying to become a more disciplined person whose character reflects sincerity, patience, humility, and service.
Mostly, I measure myself against who I was yesterday rather than against anyone else: a little more dependable, a little more patient, a better husband and a better man each time around.
Always learning
I can happily lose an afternoon to a good idea. I’m drawn to customer psychology, business strategy, productivity systems, learning frameworks — and, above all, books that quietly rearrange how a person thinks.
If you’ve read something lately that changed your mind, tell me about it. That’s my favourite kind of conversation — the sort where both people leave thinking a little differently than when they arrived. Come say hello →
